“Cost of Inaction” report launched, makes case for fully funded Global Fund

A new report titled Cost of Inaction: A report on how inadequate investment in the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will affect millions of lives was launched this morning in Washington, DC, and it makes the argument that, with a fully funded Global Fund, the global community can defeat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

However, the report details the dire scenarios of inaction. For example, it states that if global funding for malaria were to flat-line, 196,000 lives would be lost per year and 430 million cases would result that could have been prevented, representing a loss of US $20 billion in increase in GDP.
