Not long ago, Thienaba, Senegal, was an area hit hard by malaria, but a local organization, Sopey Naby, has since raised awareness there and the community has struck back. In the thirteen years since the organization was formed, there has not been a single death due to malaria in any of the 73 villages now included in Sopey Naby. Furthermore, in 49 of those villages not a single case of malaria has been registered since 2009. To see the story of Sopey Naby, watch the video below.
