Light manipulation of mosquito behaviour: acute and sustained photic suppression of biting activity in the Anopheles gambiae malaria mosquito

Host-seeking behaviors in anopheline mosquitoes are time-of-day specific, with a greater propensity for nocturnal biting. This study investigates how a short exposure to light presented during the night or late day can inhibit biting activity and modulate flight activity behavior.
